We welcome your interest in our school and encourage you to visit our exciting environment. Children from 13 months through 14 years of age work in a setting that promotes cooperation and learning at many different levels. Parents are invited to tour the school and observe classes. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the school office. Observations are open from mid-October through mid-May. Tours may be scheduled any day of the week, any time of the year.
Parents who are interested in enrolling their children can fill out a pre-registration form at any time. They are generally notified of their children's acceptance in the spring for fall admittance. Siblings of currently enrolled students and students transferring from other Montessori schools are given preference for admission.
After a space is offered, the enrollment process is continued with the return of the completed Enrollment Intent Form, including selection of a payment option, plus a non-refundable tuition deposit. Newly enrolled students in The Little House and Pre-Primary meet with teachers prior to the first day of school to confirm that correct placement has been made and to acquaint the child and parents with the classroom and teachers. Children in grade levels 1-8 are considered for admission after a three-day visit. This visit gives the child the opportunity to become more familiar with the school and and gives the staff the opportunity to evaluate the child's commitment to learning and ability to handle the behavioral expectations of the school.
West Side Montessori Center admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to any of the privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The school doesn't discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions, and other school-administered programs.
