Teaching in a private school has many benefits including the strong sense of community, commitment to a particular educational philosophy, and flexibility to create an exciting learning environment. At West Side Montessori teachers believe in the Montessori philosophy and methodology. The children we serve grow to love learning and become both independent and responsible individuals.
Teachers are hired with the expectation that they will engage in the appropriate Montessori teacher-training course upon completion of their first school-year of employment at West Side Montessori. It takes a minimum of 1 year to complete the Montessori training. The year includes classes, reading, projects and papers, and culminates with written and practical examinations. Training takes place out of town and depends upon the age-level of the training program. A one-year internship under the supervision of a Montessori certified teacher is included.

Pre-School After School Position
The Rainbow Room (children ages 3 – Kindergarten) is looking for a part-time teacher Mondays – Fridays from 2:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. to work with 10 – 25 children after school. We are seeking someone with energy, experience working with young children and the ability to develop creative, fun activities with a co-teacher. An early childhood associate or bachelor degree is preferred but we will consider a mature current early childhood student. Substitutes
For various positions working in an educational setting with children ages 13 months – 8th grade. The greatest number of positions are with toddlers and pre-schoolers at Toledo and Perrysburg campuses. Hours range from 7 am – 6 pm. Education degree and/or experience working with children in a group setting required.
